Children's Performing Arts of Lakota, Inc. Audition Class Every session of CPAL we have students and parents who want to start doing auditions and are looking for advice on how to do a better job in those auditions. Our drama classes are designed to help our students understand what is needed to build a character and perform as that character in a production, but the attention that is needed to build audition skills is different. Auditions will often require a actor to have prepared monologues to perform for the director or audition team. Actors are expected to have two monologues prepared. These two monologues should show different sides of an actor's abilities. For instance, an actor may have a humorous monologue and a dramatic piece. CPAL has developed an intense 5 week Audition/Monologue preparation class that is being offered on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 8:15 at Union Elementary School. This five session class will help each actor pick out a monologue that will showcase there talents and personality and will work on that monologue in a master class setting. Class participants will be expected to have their monologue memorized by the second class so the teacher will be able to start working on improving the delivery of that piece. This class will be limited to 7 students in each class and will cost $60.00 for the 5 week session. If you are interested in getting more information about this new Audition Class, email CPAL. |
